About Charles J. Hoffmann Jr. & Son LLC

Mission

For more than 82 years, the primary function of this service-oriented firm has centered on facilities that store and handle petroleum-based product. The experience and attention-to-details approach has earned the company the reputation of providing the best services and workman ship available in the profession. The company's focus has always been centered on the quality of work, not the quantity.

History

The original company was founded in 1922 as a sole proprietorship by Charles Hoffmann. In 1947, a partnership was established with Charles J. Hoffmann, operating as Charles Hoffmann & Son. The company was incorporated in 1968, operating as Charles J. Hoffmann Inc., with the addition of Charles J. Hoffmann Jr. to the management of the company. The fourth generation of this family-owned business had then joined the staff, in preparation for continuing the business into the next millennium. In 2003 Charles J. Hoffmann Jr. and Charles J. Hoffmann III reformed the business once more, operating currently as Charles J. Hoffmann, Jr. & Son, LLC.

At the Forefront of Our Field

Our capabilities have evolved over the years with the technologies of the equipment required for the facilities served. We have participated in the development and advancement of some of these technologies. Some milestones include:

  • Remediation of UST sites more than 30 years before the EPA was established.

  • Installation of the first all-fiberglass UST's in New Jersey.

  • Installation of the first Pre-engineered protected steel tanks in New Jersey.

  • Installation of the first electronic fuel dispenser in New Jersey.

  • First trained/licensed technicians for electronic fuel dispensers.

  • First trained precision tank/line testing technicians in New Jersey.

Quality controls are maintained on all work by keeping workforce to a limited number of fully trained personnel, in participation with and under the direct supervision of the company owners. The client's exposure to the potential liabilities of the facilities serviced is minimized by this approach
